Ferdinand Marcos had a secret body double

Jesus Quevenco was a native of Negros whose life changed forever after he met late Philippine president turned dictator Ferdinand Marcos.

Quevenco was a friend of Ramulo Golez, the infamous mayor of Salay, and he took his friend Quenvenco on a trip to meet the Marcos himself in 1960.

While Quenvenco was waiting in the living room of the Marcos family home, he met numerous people from Mindanao who would shake his hand believing he was in fact Marcos himself. This event led to his new job, being the double of Ferdinand Marcos.

Quenvenco would accompany Imelda to meetings, events and parties when Ferdinand was unavailable. For his efforts, he was offered a job in a high branch of government, which he refused.

He returned to Negros but Ferdinand was desperate to get him back son offered him a job in the government, this time his wife became an employee of the Ministry of Human Settlements in Western Visayas.

Later in the 1970s Marcos’ popularity was dwindling quickly and Quenvenco was chased numerous times by angry mobs. Afraid for his life, he returned to Negros with his wife and vowed never to return to Manila again.

Jesus Quenvenco outlived Ferdinand Marcos and died in Bacolod City at the age of 90.
