One student was killed, and six others were injured when they were hit by a jeepney while crossing a pedestrian lane in Makati City on Wednesday night.

According to Jamie Santos on GMA News “Saksi,” the traffic light for vehicles was red (stop), and a group of students was crossing over the street.

Suddenly, a raging jeepney driven by Rizaldy Samparong appeared and plowed through the victims who were about to cross the road.

In a video, the jeepney avoided a car and hit the group of students at the pedestrian lane.

Because of the collision’s impact, some of the students were thrown while some went under the jeepney.

Jules Villapando was killed in the incident.

People who saw the tragedy immediately helped.

According to the Makati Traffic Bureau, the jeep driver argued that he had lost control of the vehicle.

He was arrested and will face a series of complaints.

Meanwhile, an SUV hit at least ten people in front of Baclaran Church, Wednesday night.

Four of the victims were severely injured.

According to the police, SUV driver Allan Respecia intentionally hit several vehicles and the pedestrians at the gate 2 of Baclaran Church.

Respecia is already at the police station as authorities try to get a statement from him.

A portion of Redemptorist Road was temporarily closed following the incident.
