The police who shot at the wheel of Jake Cuenca’s car during a chase last night along Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong will face investigation. This is the story of the person close to the actor interviewed.
News broke about the arrest of Jake Cuenca because he allegedly collided with a police vehicle and caused the shooting of a Grab driver last Saturday night.
“Galing si Jake sa kaibigan niyang si Paulo Avelino, nagkatsikahan, bonding kasi Sabado naman.
“Tapos nu’ng pauwi na si Jake, may nadaanan siyang maraming sasakyang nakahinto tapos pinapara siya, hindi niya kilala kasi mga nakasibilyan kaya hindi siya huminto, pinatakbo niya nang mabilis kaya nasagi niya ‘yung isang sasakyang nakaparada sa kalsada.
“Doon na siya hinabol, ayaw niya huminto kaya pinagbabaril ‘yung gulong ng sasakyan niya tapos nu’ng may nakita siyang mga nakaunipormeng pulis na pinara siya saka lang siya huminto. Nu’ng huminto siya, pinababa siya, tsinek ‘yung sasakyan niya, wala namang nakita (na ilegal),” the source said.
Then the actor found out that he went through a buy-bust operation, and because his car was totally tinted with oversized tires, he was chased because he was thought to be involved.
It was also mentioned that Jake allegedly had a gun, something he denied, “Sabi ni Jake, ‘wala po akong baril, gun ban ngayon di ba?’

“Pagdating nila ng presinto doon lang nalaman ni Jake na may nabaril palang Grab driver. Kaya sabi ni Jake ay wala siyang alam tungkol sa Grab driver,” the source explained.
He said Jake immediately called his father when he was at the precinct (Mandaluyong Police Station) and told the police that if the son was really at fault and someone got into his car, he would go to jail himself.
No case was filed against Jake Cuenca. The alleged Reckless Imprudence Resulting to Damage to Property was not pursued because the actor was found innocent.
As a result, Jake’s plan to file a case against the policemen who shot at his car was not pushed, but the said policemen are currently detained at the Mandaluyong Police Station, but the PNP has not yet released a report on this.
The report also said that Jake had nothing to do with the shooting of the delivery driver, who was immediately taken care of by the police and taken to Rizal Medical Center.
The person close to Jake Cuenca also stressed that he was not jailed, and no case was filed against the actor.
