Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte wondered why the opposition and the Palace are “playing a slapping game” over the Duterte-Duterte tandem in the 2022 elections.
“I do not understand why 1Sambayan and the Palace are playing a slapping game about a Duterte-Duterte tandem,” Duterte said in Mav Gonzales’ report on “24 Oras.”
Earlier, opposition coalition 1Sambayanan the Duterte-Duterte is big nonsense.
“The alleged VP run of the President not only makes a mockery of the Constitution but a joke of the worst kind. It is laughable and the height of impertinence to the Filipino people,” said 1Sambayan convenor Howard Calleja.
“Ang nakakatawa pa dito, ikaw ang mamimili ng iyong presidente, obviously ‘yung presidente mo is a puppet, para bang ikaw pa rin ang kumukumpas,” he added.
“The president already said he does not believe I am fit to be president because I am a woman,” Sara Duterte added.
In January, President Rodrigo Duterte opposed the call for her daughter to run for president as “the emotional set-up of a woman and man is totally different.”

“My daughter, inuudyok naman nila, sabi ko ‘My daughter is not running.’ I have told Inday not to run kasi naaawa ako sa dadaanan niya na dinaanan [ko],” the president previously said.
The father and daughter are both tight-lipped regarding their plans for the 2022 elections.
Meanwhile, Albay Representative Joey Salceda said the Duterte-Duterte tandem in the 2022 elections is “not reasonable prospect.”
“I don’t see that although I signed a resolution… First you need geographical balance, it is a rational thinking, especially that in our system, there’s concentration on the powers of president that at least there should be geographical balance para hindi masyadong nako-concentrate ‘yung national resources geographically,” Salceda said.
“It is more reasonable that there will be a Duterte and somebody else team… I don’t see [a] Duterte-Duterte tandem in 2022,” he added.
Salceda also noted that usually, the vice president is also younger than the president.
