As of yesterday, there have been 49 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Quezon City, which has a population of three million and is considered the largest city in the National Capital Region.

On March 15, President Rodrigo Duterte first placed Metro Manila under the community quarantine. The Luzon-wide enhanced community enhancement from March 17 to April 14 was imposed to prevent the spread of the virus.

As a result, the public transportation and operations of various establishments have been suspended, which means that poor people will lose income for one month.

In response, the INC immediately made a financial donation under the directive of Brother Eduardo through INC General Auditor Glicerio Santos Jr. to help the city of Quezon to help the needy.

“Thank you! Kayo po ang nag-abot ng pina-kamalaking tulong sa aming lungsod,” said Mayor Belmonte.

(Thank you! You are the one who has provided the greatest help to our city.)

“Napakalaking tulong po talaga sa amin ito, lalong-lalo na sapagkat gipit na gipit po kami sa panggastos sa pagkain, gamot, mga gamit sa precautionary measures na kakailanganin.”

(It has been a great help to us, especially since we have been scarce from the food, medicine, and supplies needed for precautionary measures.)

“Karamihan po ng positive patients natin ay senior citizens. Marami po ta-yong matutulungan na mga pamilya, and I’m very grateful. Please accept, from the bottom of my heart, my deepest gratitude to you,” the mayor added.

(Most of our positive patients are senior citizens. We can helo a lot of families.)
