Cocaine smuggled in from the United States was confiscated by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Bureau of Customs at the FedEx warehouse in Lapu-Lapu City.
The drugs were inside of a shipment in a knot-tied plastic bag/sachet. An investigation conducted by the PDEA Regional Office #7 showed that the unclaimed parcel was sent by a Kevin Pillez of Chicago, Illinois.
The parcel was addressed to Jonah Olverio of 76 V. Ranudo Street, Cebu City. Olverio remains at large, and will be charged with violation of Republic Act #9165 – also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Authorities have also been notified about Kevin Pillez in the US.
The shipment had a street value of approximately 300,000 pesos.
