The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) released a step-by-step guide on how to avail the government’s Social Amelioration Package to aid Filipinos affected by the pandemic crisis.
President Rodrigo Duterte Monday night announced the government allocated P200 billion worth of aid for low-income families in the country.
“We have allotted ₱200 billion for low-income households who are badly affected by this crisis. Beneficiary households will receive emergency support for their two months based on the regional minimum wage,” the President said in his address to the nation Monday midnight.
How to Avail DSWD Social Amelioration Package
Local Government Units will distribute Social Amelioration Card (SAC) forms to their constituents. It will be done on the house to house basis.
The head of the family writes their information on the SAC form (two copies). Details of the information should be complete and be written in capital letters.
Submit the one copy of the SAC form to the LGU once they go back to your house and keep the other copy for your reference and monitoring.
DSWD and other government agencies will distribute financial aid through the LGUs.
Remember that the SAC form is a validation tool only that aims to identify those who need immediate help.
The agency said everyone would benefit from Social Amelioration, but its distribution schedule depends on a family’s level of needs. DSWD asks for everyone’s cooperation, understanding, and help for the program’s implementation.
