Household lockdown, liquor ban, and curfew in Pampanga extended until April 30

The implementation of household lockdown, liquor ban, curfew, and barangay checkpoints in Pampanga province has been extended until the end of April to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The earlier curfew began to be enforced this Thursday across the province from the previous 10 pm until 5 am would begin at 8 pm.

Its implementation is by virtue of the issued Executive Order No. 5B-2021 by Pampanga Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda. Apart from house lockdown, liquor ban, and barangay checkpoints, there are additional guidelines also stated in the EO that is effective until April 30, 2021.

Essential establishments such as groceries and supermarkets, pharmacies, banks and financial institutions, agri and poultry supplies, water refilling stations, convenience stores, laundry shops, clinics, laboratories, autoshops, fuel and LPG stations, and hardware, are allowed to open from 50% to 100% capacity, except those related to entertainment and amusement, also in accordance with the guidelines of the Department of Trade and Industry.

Government offices need to implement alternative work arrangements, such as work-from-home, skeleton workforce, compressed workweek, staggered working hours, or any combination of these.

The private sector is encouraged to implement alternative work arrangements in their respective offices and establishments.

Whenever possible, face-to-face meetings should be avoided. The use of telephone or video conferencing/online meetings is also encouraged. Department heads and business owners need to assign the necessary engineering controls, such as placing barriers, changing office layout, to ensure physical distancing. Proper and adequate ventilation must also be ensured.

“Alam mo kailangan natin yung extension na ito dahil, dahil tumataas pa ang ating covid cases lalo na with this new variant napakatinding kumalat nitong variant na ito, in fact it’s continuously evolving so talagang kailangan mag-ingat tayo, at importante talaga ang buhay ng tao,” said Arch. Nestor Mangio, president of Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc.

In the coronavirus disease bulletin of Pampanga on April 12, there were 207 new COVID cases while there were 2,592 active cases.

There have also been 3,743 arrested violators of quarantine protocols throughout the province since the first implementation of EO No. 5 on March 20, 2021.
