A homeowner in Indonesia has up their estate home up for sale on the open market. The home comes with a nice pond, an adequate backyard and an added addition – a wife.
The two-bedroom, two-bath home in Sleman, Indonesia is in Yogyakarta.
The 40-year-old owner Wina Lia is also adding her hand in marriage along with the sale of her home.
The asking price you say? just a mere $76,500 – but guess what? Lia said: “Buyers who don’t negotiate the price – can ask the owner to marry.”
Lia says there are ‘terms and conditions’ to the marriage – the advertisement for the home went viral after social media picked up quickly on the ‘wife’ part of the added addition to the sale of her home.
Local media in the area tracked down the homeowner to ask if the ad was genuine – “indeed it’s true, Wina is ready to be married to the house buyer.” said the headlines on Twitter.
Dian Purna Dirgantara, the realtor who concocted the plan, told TIME magazine that his advertisement was working.
“Since yesterday morning there are continuous calls, I don’t count how many, there must be dozens or even hundreds.” He clarifies that marriage isn’t a must. “If someone just wants the house, they can have that,” he said.
Wina is said to be a single mother – after offering her home for sale she expressed her desire to find a partner in life once again – the real estate agent is the one who came up with the catchy phrase.
“Dian suggested I put up the tagline: ‘Buy the house and marry the owner at the same time.’ And I said OK to it. I’m looking for a husband anyway,” she said.
