Hidilyn Diaz gets ‘golden car’ from Ayala Foundation

Hidilyn Diaz temporarily took the time out of holding the barbell because she first touched her new “golden car” steering wheel as one of the prizes won for winning gold at the Tokyo Olympics.

After the historic Olympic victory that gave the Philippines its first gold medal in the quadrennial meet, those who wanted to give cash incentives and rewards poured into Diaz.

On Friday, the athlete received the new KIA Stonic golden car from the Ayala Foundation to recognize her excellent fight in Japan.

“The golden girl gets her golden car,” according to the Ayala Foundation post.

The Ayala Foundation recognized Diaz as its first “Atletang Magiting.”

This is just one of the long lists of those expected to receive Diaz, just like the more than P50 million cash incentives from various sectors in the country.

The player from Zamboanga will also receive three houses and lots and a condominium unit in addition to free flights from two major airlines.

Even fuel, food, and makeup are promised by some companies for athletes.

Hidilyn Diaz will also get P5 million from Dennis Uy’s Phoenix Petroleum plus free fuel for life.

Under the law, Diaz will receive P10 million from the . In addition,  V. Pangilinan will also give her another P10 million.

Millionaire Ramon S. Ang will also give Diaz P10 million, while deputy speaker Mikee Romero will give her an additional P 3 million.

Meanwhile, the weightlifter will get P2.5 million from her hometown Zamboanga City also by law.

Diaz received also received lifetime free flights from flag carriers  and Philippine Airlines.

Megaworld Corp. also gave Hidilyn Diaz a P14-million residential condominium unit in Eastwood City.

Last week, Diaz made history when she broke the country’s 97-year wait for the Olympic gold medal by noon champion in the women’s 55kg weightlifting category.

This is the first gold medal of the Philippines since competing in the Olympics in 1924.
