Helper who stole P2M jewelry, gadgets caught because of GPS

An estimated P2 million was stolen by a helper from the house where she worked in Barangay North Fairview in Quezon City.

Based on the initial report of the Fairview Police Station, the suspect alias Suzy first escaped and CCTV footage at her employer’s house showed her departure.

She was carrying jewelry, gadgets, and money from her employers worth P2 million.

The helper has only been working as a maid for three months.

Police arrested the suspect in a follow-up operation they conducted in San Luis, Pampanga on Wednesday where her partner lives.

The suspect was tracked there using GPS from the tablet she stole. Two tablets, four rings worth P1.8 million belonging to her boss were recovered from her. The cellphone and P250,000 cash she stole has not been recovered.

The helper admitted that the two tablets were stolen to sell them but she said she did not take any money or jewelry.

The victims have now contacted the helper’s agency as they decide to file a case of qualified theft against the suspect.

Man on the barangay’s drug watchlist shot dead

The family of the 30-year-old man is grieving today after he was shot in Malate, Manila on Wednesday.

The victim was identified as Abraham Damil, alias Butchoy.

On the barangay’s CCTV, Damil can be seen passing the Tuazon corner of San Andres Street on a bicycle when he was shot by an unidentified man.

During the investigation, the gunman, who was already sitting on the side of the road, seemed to be waiting for him before the victim arrived.

Barangay Kagawan Victor Del Rosario of Barangay 739 confirmed that the victim was a resident there.

It is alleged that the shooting was possibly drug-related and according to the Malate police report, the victim was included in the barangay drug watchlist for allegedly pushing drugs.

According to the victim’s family, someone called Damil to warn him not to leave the house.

The police investigation also revealed that the victim was a member of the Commando Gang.
