Each transaction ranged from P96,265 to P356,517.

“The hacker managed to change my registered phone number so he got the OTPs. He knew what he was doing. I just don’t know how he will eat a million worth of food,” the senator said.

47% of Metro Manila residents doubt getting COVID-19 vaccine – OCTA

Many Filipinos in Metro Manila are still unconvinced to get vaccinated against COVID-19, according to a survey by the OCTA Research Group.

According to the survey, only one in every four residents of Metro Manila is willing to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

Survey question and answer: If there is a safe and effective vaccine against COVID-19, would you say that:

  • I will be vaccinated – 25 percent
  • I still don’t know if I will get vaccinated or not – 47 percent
  • I will not get vaccinated – 28 percent

The face-to-face interview was participated by 600 survey respondents in Metro Manila from December 9 to 13.

“We were also surprised that despite being the most informed region where discussion about this has taken place that a lot of people are still not sure or not willing to have themselves vaccinated, this is a product of a lack of information,” said Ranjit Rye, member of the group.

The survey also showed that a large proportion of those who want to be vaccinated are from class A, B, and C, or those who are capable and middle class while many in class E do not want to be vaccinated.

This is said to be the reason why there is a need for an intense information drive in the Philippines.

According to OCTA and doctors, the Dengvaxia controversy still has an impact on Filipinos’ low confidence in vaccines.
