A Manila Port dockworker has been killed in a gruesome event in North Harbor, Tondo, Manila.
20-year-old Emterio Beto of Balut, Tondo, took a break and was buying a bottle of water from a nearby canteen when a forklift carrying a 20-foot steel container was being unloaded nearby.
The forklift driver failed to see Beto and set the container in it supposed rightful place.
Upon setting the container down, the forklift driver – 43-year-old Sonny de Pedro failed to notice Beto was under the container – killing him instantly and squashing him in a gruesome accident that disintegrated the body of the dockworker under the container and the concrete platform.
The area that Beto was killed in is off-limits to pedestrians as it is a storage area for the steel containers in the yard. The young victim took a shortcut and was returning to work with his water from the nearby canteen.
