Greenhills Shopping Center to be used as vaccination site in San Juan

The San Juan City local government will turn a mall in the city into a vaccination site in preparation for the vaccination of economic frontliners and the indigent starting June.

According to San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora, the cinemas and other spaces of the Greenhills Shopping Center will be used to get more people vaccinated each day.

“Ang Greenhills Shopping Center ang ating main commercial area sa ating lungsod at marami po sa A4 economic frontliners ay dito nagtatrabaho,” said Zamora.

Today, about 1,800 people are vaccinated in the city every day.

“They will simply walk dito sa ating Theater Mall, gagamitin natin ‘yung mga movie theaters, ‘yung mga area ng shopping center na pinabakante muna natin for a while upang magsilbi bilang vaccination center,” said Zamora.

On the other hand, Zamora is confident that since the remaining supply will be enough for up to 8 days, the Department of Health will be able to replenish it when it is about to run out.

The mayor announced that by June, the San Juan City government is targeting to vaccinate up to 4,000 residents per day against -19.

He said San Juan City has already received 11,700 doses of Pfizer vaccines, 12,000 doses of AstraZeneca, and 10,000 doses of Sinovac.

San Juan has also taken action where there are also reports of the vaccine slots for sale.
