The Las Piñas City police are already in the custody of a 71-year-old grandfather who shot dead his neighbor in a private subdivision in the city after he surrendered more than a day after the incident.
According to Las Piñas City police chief Col. Rodel Pastor, their tracker team found Ernesto “Mang Boy” Francisco with relatives in Tagaytay City in Cavite this Thursday afternoon.
According to Pastor, Francisco was convinced to surrender for the safety of the relatives he went to.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Francisco said he regretted the incident, especially as it led to his imprisonment.
Francisco fled in an SUV after shooting at Ricky Dimatulac and Dominic Duclayan outside Francisco’s house in BF Resort Village on Wednesday.
Dimatulac died while Duclayan was still being observed at the hospital.
The dispute started after Francisco confronted Duclayan because of his motorcycle’s noise every time he passed by the suspect’s house.
Pastor said the suspect asserted to the police that he had long complained about the noise of passing motorcycles due to the impact on his grandchildren.
According to survivor Duclayan, he tried to apologize to Francisco, but he cursed at him.

Dimatulac’s relative said Francisco shot him several times even though they heard him begging.
Francisco declined to answer when questioned as to why he shot his neighbors.
Meanwhile, the family of the father who was killed by his neighbor in Las Piñas on Wednesday called for justice.
The mother, siblings, and parents of 50-year-old Ricky Dimatulac burst into tears on the first day of his funeral on Thursday.
For the widowed wife Mabel, Ricky’s death was unfair after being shot by neighbor Ernesto “Boy” Francisco.
“Sana mabigyan na lang siya ng justice. ‘yon na lang. Doon na lang siguro ako matatahimik, parang magiging masaya, kasi nabigyan ng hustisya ang pagkawala ng asawa ko na alam kong napakababaw lang ng dahilan. Parang ang hirap na tanggapin ‘yon lang ang dahilan,” she said.
