Gov’t now allows motorcycle taxi operations

Malacañang announced Friday that motorcycle taxi firms could now resume operations after Congress allowed the pilot study’s continuation on this mode of transport.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) approved the measure on Thursday after the House transportation committee allowed the resumption of operations.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory BoardHe would release the guidelines, he said.

“Mabuting balita po iyan kasi pupuwede naman tayong mag Angkas o mag Joyride,” Roque said at the Laging Handa briefing.

Angkas chief transport advocate George Royeca earlier assured the public that their fleet is ready to serve commuters. He added that their drivers were trained on the proper disinfection of vehicles after every trip.

Also, senior citizens are allowed to enter the malls as well as the sale of liquor.
