A 14-year-old girl kidnapped from General Trias, Cavity by a man she met on Facebook.
The kidnapping happened at 8am on Friday and was witnessed by several construction workers who were in the area on the job.
Those construction men told the girl’s parents, who then informed the police.
The victim’s oldest sister was able to open her sister’s Facebook account and learned about the suspect’s identity and his home address in Malabon City.
At 4pm on Friday (the same day as the kidnapping), members of the Malabon Police, along with the Children’s Protection Desk rescued the victim and arrested the suspect.
Arrested was 20-year-old Mathew Tinio of Acacia, Malabon City. When asked if he had sexually abused the girl he refused to talk – her parents then demanded a physical examination on their daughter.
Police said that the girl’s parents agreed to settle the abduction case amicably after their daughter’s physical examination came back negative of rape or any sexual deviation.
