An American man wanted in the United States for sexual assault has been arrested on the island of Panglao in the province of Bohol.
45-year-old Brent Allen Reeves, from Arkansas, was arrested at a market by agents of the US Embassy on a warrant for sexual assault and also for violation of immigration laws.
Authorities in Pulaski County, Arkansas, say that Reeves was arrested for sexual assault against a juvenile and was a ‘no show’ at his circuit court hearing.
Reeves has two active warrants, including the felony failure to appear on the sexual assault charges and also a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge.
Reeves has allegedly been on the run using aliases such as Kenneth Alan Rounsaval and Charlie Lilly.
Police say that Reeves did not resist arrest – he was taken into custody, given a medical examination and placed in the Panglao police station for holding.
Reeves will be taken to Manila for deportation proceedings.
