Makati police arrested FlipTop rapper Loonie and four others in a drug buy-bust operation in Makati, Wednesday night.

According to Makati Police Chief Police Senior Supt. Rogelio Simo, they arrested Loonie, or Marlon Peroramas in real life, and his companions in the parking area of ​​a hotel in Brgy. Poblacion, Makati City.

Authorities put Loonie’s group under one-month surveillance before they launched the buy-bust operation.

The police recovered fifteen sachets of kush or high-grade marijuana and buy-bust money from the rapper’s group.

But Loonie’s defense, the evidence was planted, and he had nothing to do with illegal drugs.

Loonie is one of the pioneer FlipTop rappers in the country alongside Zaito who got arrested last year also with illegal drug violations.

FlipTop Battle League is the first and largest professional rap battle conference in the Philippines founded by Alaric Riam Yuson in 2010. Loonie would sometimes accuse his opponent of being a drug addict as part of his winning strategies.
