Fisherman dead in Palawan crocodile attack

Palawan crocodile attack. A fisherman was already dead when authorities recovered him from the mouth of the crocodile who attacked him in Sitio Caguisan, Barangay Salang, in Palawan.

According to Palawan Provincial Police Office, the victim Junick Husin and certain Edgar Legazpi, were aboard their boat and trying to catch squid when their boat hit the crocodile. The boat capsized, and the crocodile attacked Husin.

“Dahil malaki itong buwaya ay tumaob po yung kanilang bangka at pagkataob nitong bangka, nasakmal po itong isa, itong biktima,” said Police Major Ric Ramos, spokesperson of Palawan Provincial Police Office.

(The crocodile was big, so when the boat capsized, the crocodile grabbed the victim.)

Legazpi immediately swam away to ask for help.

Residents followed the crocodile, which is still biting the victim.

The crocodile was killed, and they finally got Husin out of the crocodile’s mouth.

“Opo, nakuha po sa bibig at talagang eventually po ay pinatay po nila itong buwaya para po makuha ito pong biktima na ito,” Ramos said.

This is the fifth incident of Palawan crocodile attack this year in different villages in Balabac.

Just last month, a crocodile snatched a 15-year old boy in Balabac, Palawan.
