Agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group rescued a 16-year-old girl who was being held against her will for two months in Cavite.
Philippine National Police said the girl, a fourth year high school student, was rescued in Tece Martirez City this week.
The suspect, 27-year-old Joel Garcia, a Globe Telecom employee, managed to elude arrest when police rescued the girl.
An initial investigation into the incident shows that Garcia befriended the young girl and promised her good work in Cavite.
The two met, but Garcia held her against her will and made her into his sex slave.
The investigation also shows Garcia told the young girl that he would marry her despite being married to another Filipina.
The entire event was only discovered after the girl’s mother went to Cavite from Batan to look for her daughter who had not contacted her for two months.
