A Filipina wins Dubai Big Ticket draw and now a multi-millionaire, Tuesday night.
Marelie David won the 10 million dirham (P142.2 million) Big Ticket Abu Dhabi Series 207 draw held at the Abu Dhabi International Airport. Marelie’s lucky ticket number was No. 172193.
“I think you are not teasing me because people call and tease about such prizes,” Marelie told Big Ticket Raffle host Richard on the phone upon learning about her instant fortune.
“Thank you so much… this is a big blessing. Timing is perfect…it’s going to be December soon,” said Marelie when Richard talked to her.
Marelie is an expat in Dubai who has been living there with her family for 20 years now. She is originally from Pasig City.
She said that it was her practice to join the raffle monthly, sharing the amount with friends. She thought that someone was just playing a prank on her when she received the call that she won.
She plans to build a house for her son and a church for her hometown using her money.
“Keep on trying, keep you your faith, and maybe God will do something and you will win soon!” Marelie told organisers.
As this month’s winner, Marelie will pick the winning number for October’s Big Ticket draw.
Filipina wins Dubai Big Ticket not the only one
Marelie told Big Ticket Abu Dhabi that the prize money will be split to 10 individuals who shared on buying the winning ticket. Each would have P14.2 million.
Another Filipino also won the largest and longest-running raffle draw. Lamberto Corpus Jr. got the 6th place in draw and won 50,000 dirham or P711,036.
