Bobby Murphy entered this year’s Forbes list of world billionaires. Murphy is the Filipino-American co-founder of popular app Snapchat and is said to hold a 15 per cent stake in the company.
The Stanford-educated Murphy has a net worth of at least $1.5 billion dollars – making him the second youngest billionaire in the Forbes list.
24-year-old Murphy and his fraternity brother Even Spiegel released Snapchat under its original name “Picaboo” in a 2011 for iOS and Android – it originally was a project for one of their classes at Stanford.
The two tech pioneers turned down a $3 billion dollar buyout off from Facebook in 2013 – the app is now said to have a value of at least $19 billion dollars.
