Fake police arrested in Imus

A man posing as a policeman was arrested in Imus, Cavite. He was even caught with a complete police uniform and a gun.

According to PLtCol Noel Calaptia, OIC of the Imus City Police Station, they arrested Leo Mendoza after a concerned citizen reported that a man fired a gun three times in their area.

When the police arrived, the suspect introduced himself as a police officer with the rank of SPO2.

But during the investigation by the Imus police station, the suspect’s name was not in the PNP’s Personnel Accounting Information System.

Several sets of police uniforms, including General Office Attire or blue uniform and fatigue field service uniform were confiscated from the 41-year-old suspect.

The uniform with the Manila Police District patch also has the suspect’s name on it. Aside from the uniform, he was also found with a .45 caliber gun and IDs that he was wearing a police uniform.

He faces numerous charges, including violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act, Illegal Use of Insignias, and Usurpation of Authority.

PLtCol Calapatia is now calling on distributors of PNP uniforms not to sell them to civilians, especially if no ID can be shown.

He also called on the public to report to them if they fall victim to fake police.


Theft suspect arrested in Pandacan, Manila

A 29-year-old man who was one of the wanted personalities of the Pandacan Police was issued a warrant of arrest.

Jeffery Dacayana, the Top 10 Most Wanted Person, is said to be the suspect in the theft in their area.

According to the police, he had previously stolen a neighbor’s ring, although he returned it after being summoned to the barangay.

He is also a suspect in burglary and theft of an appliance and allegedly forcibly snatching a bicycle in March.

The suspect confessed to the theft, especially since he is no longer accepted for painting.

He was raising four children and said he just needed money.

He will now face the robbery case filed against him.
