Erwin Garcia, the last surviving child of late veteran actor Eddie Garcia, dies at the age of 65 on Saturday due to liver disease complications.
“ It’s very sad that after two years, sumunod na si Erwin kay Tito Eddie,” Representative Mikee Romero told ABS-CBN News Sunday, citing the filial bond between him and the second-born of Garcia.
Romero regarded Eddie Garcia, the partner of his mother Lilibeth Romero, as a father figure.
“We were close, komedyante kasi yon,” he said. All of Eddie Garcia’s children are now gone.
Eddieboy, Erwin’s older brother, died in a motorcycle accident in the 1970s, while younger sister Elizabeth passed on in the 90s due to heart disease.
Erwin Garcia died on his 65th birthday Saturday, according to his niece Angelica Laser Esquillon in her Facebook post.
It was Erwin Garcia who fittingly recapped the private and personal life of his father who died in June 2019 after an accident on the set of a TV show.

“His passion was his showbiz work, maski birthday niya nagtatrabaho,” he recalled in interviews with ABS-CBN, also paying tribute to him as a father.
“Isang tawag lang, andyan na siya pag may problema!.”
“Second day na unconcious siya nagpasalamat na ako sa kanya sa lahat!,” Erwin told ABS-CBN in June 2019. “Sinabi ko rin tumayo ka na dyan!”
Erwin Garcia is part of the forthcoming all-star documentary about Eddie Garcia entitled “Manoy: Isang Pagsaludo Eddie Garcia.” It was directed by Jon Red for Viva Entertainment.
On June 8, 2019, Garcia was rushed to Mary Johnson Hospital in Tondo, Manila, after tripping on a cable wire and hitting his head on the pavement during a shoot for Rosang Agimat, an upcoming television series produced by GMA Network.
Unconscious, he was later transferred to the ICU at the Makati Medical Center the following day. The actual incident was captured on video. Initial reports stated that Garcia allegedly suffered a heart attack on set according to his family, but was later found to have suffered a neck and cervical fracture due to the fall, contrary to earlier reports.
