An investigation has discovered that 460 Filipinos were caught working with fake engineering certificates in Saudi Arabia.
Of the 2,000-plus foreign workers caught without proper documentation, Filipinos were the largest cohort, followed by Indians with 250 fake certificates, Egyptians with 180, Pakistanis with 110 and Jordanians with 50.
This month alone, 10 more Filipinos were discovered to have fake engineering certificates.
Authorities took action last year by announcing that the names of the engineers found to have forged their documents would be published soon. Those on the list will be banned from working in the kingdom.
