ECQ in Tuguegarao extended for another 2 days

The enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Tuguegarao City has been extended for another 2 days while citywide disinfection is in full swing.

The regional inter-agency task force approved the extension of the ECQ in the city until Monday, Aug. 30.

The city first underwent a 10 -day ECQ on August 12. It was extended for another week until August 28.

Simultaneously with the extension, the cleaning and disinfection of the residents to address the still rising case of COVID-19.

Residents cleaned their respective yards and houses one by one.

The barangay governments also carried out disinfection using a power sprayer.

The city government is assisting the Bureau of Fire Protection in disinfecting major streets and public areas.

According to the City Health Office on Saturday, 1,468 active COVID-19 cases in Tuguegarao were recorded after 136 new active cases were recorded.

In Olongapo City, Zambales, Barangay Kalalake put up red flags to warn motorists and passers-by of the high number of COVID-19 cases.

According to Barangay Chairman Randy Sionzon, the red flags will serve as a warning and not discrimination.

ECQ in Tuguegarao extended for another 2 days

In Iloilo City, Iloilo Doctors’ Hospital will no longer accept COVID-19 patients from August 27 to 30 due to a shortage of nurses after 7 nurses tested positive for COVID-19.

The Davao region recorded the second-highest number of new COVID-19 cases.

According to the region’s Department of Health, 857 new COVID-19 cases were reported on Saturday, so the total number of cases hit 66,948.

In Davao Occidental, “No Movement Sunday” was re-implemented in the towns of Santa Maria, Malita, and Don Marcelino to control the infection.

The town of Jose Abad Santos has implemented a “Border Sunday Lockdown,” which bans unnecessary trips from other towns.

On Siargao Island, Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo Puyat and National Task Force Against COVID-19 deputy chief implementer Vince Dizon visited for the ceremonial vaccination of tourism workers.

The Philippines recorded 19,441 additional cases of -19 on Saturday, the highest since the pandemic began.

This Sunday, the number of new cases was 18,528 for a total of 1,954,023, of which 143,221 were active cases.
