“Sadly, however, the COVID-19 crisis has also given a rise to plastic waste and pandemic. The popularity of delivery of services has produced considerable solid waste, such as the delivery of packaging of both food and non-food products. Also, a serious concern is the proper disposal of medical waste. There have been several reports of poor disposal,” he said.

Duterte added that when he was the mayor of Davao City, someone told him that some medical wastes of medicines were allegedly buried in the sand.

Duterte said this was wrong, and he also advised on how to dispose of medical wastes.
