President Rodrigo Duterte signs new laws declaring 4 new PH tourist destinations, Thursday, Manila, Philippines.

The four new tourist spots are Mount Bulaylay in Cuyapo Nueva Ecija (Republic Act No. 11406), Candon City Ecotourism Zone in Ilocos Sur (Republic Act No. 11408), Santiago Cove in Santiago, Ilocos Sur (Republic Act No. 11408), and Santa Maria in Ilocos Sur (Republic Act No. 11409).

As mandated by the said laws, the Department of Tourism (DOT), Department of Public Works and Highways, and other concerned government agencies should work together to “prepare a tourism development plan involving the construction, installation and maintenance of such appropriate facilities and infrastructure that will improve the overall feature” of the new tourist destinations. It also said that these institutions should ensure the tourists’ security and accessibility.

The signed laws also stated that “the development plan shall ensure the preservation and conservation of the historic significance of the area.”

1. Mount Bulaylay, Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija

2. Candon City Ecotourism Zone, Ilocos Sur

The city is famous for its sweet “kalamay” or sticky rice and old churches.

3. Santiago Cove in Santiago, Ilocos Sur

The Sabangan Cove or Santiago Cove has an almost one-kilometer stretch of white sand shore and pristine waters.
