Duterte claims one presidentiable using cocaine

A presidential aspirant in Election 2022 has allegedly done nothing in the town and is still using the illegal drug cocaine, according to President Rodrigo Duterte.

In his speech at the national and regional task force meeting to end local communist armed conflict in Mindoro, Duterte added that the candidate was only using his father’s name.

“There is even a presidential candidate na nag-cocaine. May kandidato tayo na nagko-cocaine ‘yan. ‘Yung anak ng mayaman. Kaya nga nagtataka ako. Anong nagawa ng tao na yan?” according to the president with no name mentioned.

“I am just asking what contribution has he made para sa Pilipinas? ‘Yan lang ang gusto kong tanungin,” he added.

He said the public does not know the true identity of the candidate who was allegedly using cocaine.

“Nagtataka ako sa Pilipino, di ako naiinggit, pulitika naman, may manalo, may matalo. Ganu’n rin ako noon, kung walang swerte, wala.  Pero itong fascination nila sa itong kandidato na to, baka hindi talaga nila alam,” said Duterte.

He warned that the candidate was a “very weak leader.”

“Inyo ‘yan. Ang akin lang pagdating ng panahon,  basta sinabi ko sa inyo. And he is a very weak leader ang character niyan,” said Duterte.

“Except for the name. Ang tatay. Pero siya? Anong ginawa niya? He might win hands down, okay. If that’s what the Filipino wants, go ahead. Basta alam ninyo,” Duterte added.

Earlier, Duterte expressed support for his longtime aide, presidential aspirant Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go.

Other aspirants to run for the presidency are Vice President Leni Robredo, Sen. Panfilo Lacson, Sen. Manny Pacquiao, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., labor leader Leody De Guzman, and Army General Antonio Parlade Jr.

Meanwhile, Duterte is running for senator in the 2022 election despite his earlier announcement that he would retire from politics.

He would have faced against his daughter Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio if he pursued his bid to become vice president of the Philippines.
