“Ngayon sinasabi ko I am giving you the guarantee na hindi kami magsinungaling at hindi kami magtimpla-timpla ng sa totoo para lumabas ang ganda,” said the President.

(Now I say I am giving you the guarantee that we will not lie and not mix up the truth to make the good come out.)

“We have no business lying to you.

According to Duterte, any damage to the government is the work of the opposition.

(I’m telling you all that comes out of here is the truth. If you don’t want to believe, but I told you don’t believe the opposition, the yellows, because they just come out looking for something wrong even if there is nothing and if there is, I can correct it right away. But if you listen to all their stories, to their narrative of the daily life of the Filipino, you will be really confused.)

In recent days, some opposition members, such as Vice President Leni Robredo, have often noticed any possible shortcomings of the government in responding to the pandemic and what could have been done to improve it.
