PSG Chief confirmed President Rodrigo Duterte and National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon were included in New People’s Army’s (NPA) hit list.
Presidential Security Group (PSG) chief B/Gen. Jose Niembra confirmed the information. He, however, said the hitlist was never new to the president.
The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) will celebrate its 51st founding anniversary this coming December 26th anis expected to launch an offensive move.
According to Niembra, they have long received threats against the President and have not ignored them.
In fact, the President’s life is threatened almost every day not only by the NPA but also by other armed groups, including various syndicates.
The PSG chief assured that they are doing everything possible to provide sufficient security for the President.
Niembra added that it is PSG’s job to provide all necessary security to the President, even if Duterte sometimes does not comply with their security protocols.
But according to Niembra, the President is also following them once and for all, the Chief Executive only needs to be adequately informed.
CCP founder Sison says Duterte included in NPA hit list a “psywar”
Exiled Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founder Jose Maria “Joma” Sison said reports of Duterte as a target of assassination is psychological warfare or a “psywar.”
“The claim that Duterte is on the so-called NPA hit-list is malicious psy-war from (National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon) Esperon,” Sison who was now in Utrecht in The Netherlands.
Sison denied the president was on the NPA’s hit list.
“I do not think so,” Sison said to the Inquirer in an online interview.
Psywar is the use of propaganda against an enemy, supported by such military, economic, or political measures as may be required.
