Dutchman died after his motorcycle collided with cement mixer truck

54-year-old Harald Maniora was pronounced dead on arrival at Cebu City Medical Center at 3.15pm Tuesday due to injuries he sustained to the head and body.

The Dutchman was killed after his motorcycle collided with a 10-wheeler cement mixer truck on the South Coastal Road at the corner of El Pardo St. in Cebu City.

Maniora is said to have been driving his motorcycle from Cebu City and headed to his home in Talisay City when the accident happened.

A mixer truck,  owned by the GEO Construction in Talisay City made a left turn and crossed the road toward the El Pardon Street to deliver cement at the construction site of a school.

Tumulak said truck driver Roger Visitacion claimed that he did not notice the approaching motorcycle.

The motorcycle hit the right side of the truck. Maniora was thrown off the motorcycle and the truck ran him over.

Tumulak said traffic investigators were still checking on the speed of the motorcycle.

Visitacion, a resident of Basak Cabreros in Cebu City, is now detained by the police and will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
