The NBI has formally charged 47-year-old Martin de Fong, a Dutchman, who was arrested last Thursday for supplying ecstasy in a bar in Makati City.
Fong was arrested in an entrapment operation with more than 5,000 pills in his possession. Officials said the Sesame Street-themed ecstasy pills are being produced in Holland.
Fong was said to have over 15 million pesos worth of ecstasy on him – officials also said that the suspect voluntarily surrendered the remaining ecstasy pills inside his condominium in Bel-Air Sojo, Makati City.
During the original arrest on Thursday, Fong tagged fellow Dutchman and possible partner Cornelius Merkars as the supplier of ecstasy and cocaine.
Recent news also shows that Taiwan and other Asian countries are overflowing with ecstasy pills mimicking characters such as Bart Simpson, the Minions, Ninja Turtles, Superman and others.
