Dua Lipa sends message to Filipino fans after winning the Grammy

In Dua Lipa’s Asia and Philippine exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News, she shared the difficulty of making and promoting the album amid the pandemic.

“I never thought I would be promoting my record from my sofa, or coming up with interesting different ways to put shows on. But you know it has been amazing to come together with my team and think of ways on we can still bring people together even if we’re far apart,” she said.

Dua Lipa is looking forward to returning to the Philippines so she has a message for Filipino fans.

“I am sending love to everyone in the Philippines, I miss you all so so much. I still remember my first show in Manila and I still can’t wait to come back, looking forward to it very, very much and I will see you all very, very soon,” the singer said.

After working as a model, Dua Lipa signed with Warner Bros. Records in 2014 and released her eponymous debut album in 2017.

The album peaked at number three on the UK Albums Chart, and yielded eight singles, including “Be the One”, “IDGAF”, and the UK number-one single “New Rules”, which also peaked at number six in the US.

Beyonce made history when she won Best R&B Performance for the song “Black Parade.” With the win, Beyonce has the most Grammy awards among female artists of all time.

Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance is “Savage” by Megan Thee Stallion featuring Beyonce.

Megan Thee Stallion was also named Best New Artist.

Taylor Swift won her third Album of the Year award for “Folklore.”

The song of the Year is “I Can’t Breathe” by Fil-Am singer H.E.R.

The Best Pop Solo Performance is “Watermelon Sugar” by Harry Styles.

Meanwhile, BTS did not take home the Grammy award because “Rain On Me” by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande won the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance award.
