Health Secretary Francisco Duque III noted that it is important that the A4 group, the economic , are vaccinated against the new coronavirus.

“Malaking bagay kasi sila ang tinatawag natin na economic frontliners. So napakamahalaga na sila ay maumpisahan na rin na mabakunahan,” Duque said on Sunday on the sidelines of the welcome ceremony for the arrival of one million doses of Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Vaccination of the A4 category will be done in two phases

  • Phase 1: A4 workers in NCR+8 (Metro Manila, Cavite, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, Pampanga, Metro Cebu, and Metro Davao)
  • Phase 2: A4 workers outside NCR+8

Meanwhile, some local government units in Metro Manila are preparing for the vaccination of the  group or the economic workers.

City would have a ceremonial vaccination of the A4 category on Monday as well as Parañaque City.

On the other hand,  City will start its vaccination of workers on June 9.

The Taguig City government said it would still prioritize the vaccination of A1 to the A3 category.

“The City continues to prioritize the vaccination of those under the A1 (Health Workers), A2 (Senior Citizens), A3 (Persons with Comorbidities), but is ready for the inoculation of those who fall under the A4 (Essential Workers) category,” it said.
