DOH: More health workers to receive SRA

The number of health workers who will receive special risk allowance (SRA) will increase.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said this is due to the Department of Health’s (DOH) ongoing recruitment of additional names of health care workers who are qualified to receive it.

This is in addition to the previous more than 20,000 names that they have already submitted to the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) for more than P311 million in funding for their SRA.

(Also currently Mr. President the DOH is working with LGUs and private hospitals to recruit additional health workers who are still eligible to receive special risk allowance. The department will also submit documents to the DBM today to provide 17, 617 additional health workers with the required P201 million in funding.)

It will be remembered that health care workers protest almost every day because of their delayed SRA benefits.

They also continue to threaten mass resignation if these benefits are not provided as soon as possible.
