Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairperson Benhur Abalos said the digital vaccine IDs or certificated for Metro Manila will be ready by September 1.
According to Abalos, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is already finalizing the COVID-19 vaccination data in the capital region.
“Lahat ng mga binakunahan sa buong Metro Manila ay in-upload na namin. Ito’y iniipon na nila ‘yung data ng Metro Manila para sabi sa amin by September 1 ‘yung vaccination ID magawa na,” he said.
(We have already uploaded all the data regarding COVID-19 vaccine recipients in Metro Manila. The DICT is already gathering the data so they can create the vaccination ID by September 1.)
The DICT said earlier it will launch the digital COVID-19 vaccine certificate portal by September.
DICT Undersecretary Emmanuel Caintic said DICT and the Department of Health (DOH) target to launch “VaxCertPH” on the first week of September.
“Okay na ang system. Handa na siya at naka-integrate na sa World Health Organization countries,” Caintic said.

Abalos said he asked Caintic to include a feature where NCR LGUs can check if an individual has already received a vaccine from other LGUs to prevent injection of booster shots.
Last week, Abalos asked the public not to take a third dose or a “booster” shot of a COVID-19 vaccine.
“Ang problema po natin, hindi pa ho stabilized ang ating supply. Talagang may kulang. Marami sa ating kababayan ni isang bakuna wala pa. Kaya as far as the government program is concerned, basta’t ito’y prinocure ng gobyerno at COVAX facility, hanggang dalawang doses lang ang bawat isa,” Abalos said.
(The problem is that our supply has not stabilized yet. It’s still insufficient. A lot of Filipinos have not received even their first dose of vaccine. As far as the government’s vaccination program is concerned, if this is procured by the government and from the COVAX facility, it should only be up to two doses.)
