The couple’s body was found decomposing inside their house in Barangay Cabayugan in Malinao town, Tuesday morning.
The couple was identified as George Cabawatan, 64, and Lucille Cabawatan, 56.
During the Malinao Police investigation, they were reported to have a foul odor coming from the victims’ house. It was learned that it had been several days since the residents had seen the couple outside.
It was also learned that the couple has no other housemate because their only child lives in Metro Manila.
The authorities asked Lucille’s sister, who lived in another town, for help to open and enter the house.
When the authorities and Lucille’s sister entered the house, they discovered the decomposed and bloody body of the couple.
Bloodstains were found on the kitchen wall of the victims’ house. Authorities also found footprints.
Meanwhile, wounds were found on the heads and bodies of the victims and there were missing items inside the victims’ houses according to the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) investigation.
Neighbors last saw Lucille alive on April 30, 2021, when she attended a birthday party in their area.
Man with many enemies shot dead in Parañaque
A man died in Parañaque City after being shot, James Agustin reported in Unang Balita on Tuesday.
Darvin Baldovino was killed a few days before his 39th birthday on Saturday. According to the victim’s wife, Janice, he has many enemies.
According to Janice, Baldovino said he will take a cellphone but he never came back. She said she found out that he was brought to the barangay after someone complained.
According to Rose Diestro, desk clerk of Barangay Tambo, Baldovino is being threatened. Baldovino allegedly confronted his complainants in the barangay but they did not come to an agreement.
“Hindi sila nagkasundo kasi nag-walkout siya, umalis siya,” said Diestro.
Baldovino was on his way home when he was suddenly shot by an unknown assailant. The gunman immediately fled.
Janice admitted that her husband was too hot-headed.
Authorities are still investigating whether the complaint against the victim is related to the crime.
