Dead woman found inside a vehicle in Iloilo

A dead woman was found inside a vehicle in Barangay Inangayan, Sta Barbara, Iloilo, Tuesday afternoon.

The victim was identified as Claire Diergos, 36 years old and living at Deca Homes, Pavia, Iloilo.

During the Sta Barbara Police investigation, residents in the area noticed a vehicle parked on the side of the road for several days. They had a foul smell coming from inside the car, so they reported it to the police.

When members of the Sta Barbara Police opened the vehicle, they discovered the bloody corpse of a woman wrapped in a comforter.

After SOCO examined the woman’s body, it was found that the victim had stab wounds to the neck and body.

According to Chief Barangay Ricardo Bayog of Barangay Inangayan, Sta Barbara, Iloilo, residents saw a silver vehicle parked on the side of the road in the area on Saturday morning.

On Saturday night, residents in the area saw a man and a woman get out of the vehicle, according to Bayog.

The Sta Barbara Police is still investigating the motive of the crime and identifying the culprits.

Meanwhile, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año boasted that the crime rate in the country has dropped by 34% under the leadership of the Duterte administration.

According to Año, the public also feels safer now due to the constant presence of the police and support programs in the communities.

The secretary said that the initiatives of the police and the are the reason why the recorded crimes in the country have dropped significantly.

“Dahil din sa mga hakbanging ito ay bumaba ang dami ng krimen sa ating bansa ng 34 percent, at mga index crime ng 70 percent noong 2020 kumpara sa taong 2016, at patuloy po itong bumababa ngayong taon. Kahit po sa survey, masasabi po na ang mga kababayan natin ay sabi nila ay mas feel nilang ligtas sila,” explained Año.

He also reported that from a total of 139,111 incidents in 2016, the number of index crimes dropped to 41,260 in 2020 and 27,523 in the first nine months of this year.
