A filmmaker from Davao is set make his world premiere at the 68th Annual Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland.
A student of Ateneo de Davao University in Davao, Lryc dela Cruz, along with Carlo Fancisco Manatad are the only Asian film producers to compete in the Pardo Di Domani section of the prestigious film event.
Lircys’s film, entitled Sa Pagitan ng Pagdalaw at Paglimot (The Ebb of Forgetting) is about “a strange dream, melancholia and letting go of memories”.
“It’s about the microcosmic yet melancholic life of the nameless people who sacrifice their lives and (their) identity to find greener pastures anywhere,” Liryc said of his film, which is a collaboration with his friends.
The movie will be shown in Switzerland at the festival from August 5 to 15.
