Davao City’s Malagos Chocolate wins award at competition in Germany

Malagos Chocolate won a silver medal at the World Drinking Chocolate Competition in Hannover, Germany.

The medal is Malgos Chocolate’s second award, they also won a bronze medal for the Best Unflavored Drinking Chocolate at the 2015 Academy of Chocolate Awards in London this year.

Malagos is marketed as a ‘single-origin’ chocolate and is produced at the Puentespina Cacao Farm in the foothills of Mount Talomo. The company is owned and operated by Rex Puentespina and his mother Charita.

The Malagos Chocolate entry won the overall dark drinking chocolate made with milk, category. They shared the medal with entries from the United Kingdom and Chile. The United States took home the gold.
