Reel and real-life couple Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo celebrated their 8th anniversary amid the COVID-19 crisis in the country.
Daniel and Kathryn chose to celebrate in private and did not post much on their social media accounts, but Kathryn’s mother Luzviminda showed how the couple marked the occasion through an Instagram post on May 26.
“Di man na celebrate sa fav place nila ang special day na ito ginawa na lang worthy ang day by continuing painting the wall of ? then i decided now to call this place, virtual wall? They decided to make the day simple lang pero thanks to all fans and friends na nagpadala ng food?thank you FCs of KathNiel kase hanggang sa business ng glamteam nila patuloy ang support nyo,” Luzviminda said.
The two received criticisms after they aired statements regarding the shutdown of their home network, ABS-CBN.
In 2019, Bernardo said that she has been in a long-term relationship with her on-screen partner, actor Daniel Padilla since 2012.
Daniel meanwhile revealed that working with Bernardo always through the years is also challenging.
“Mas madali? Hindi. Mahirap. Kasi ang dami na naming nagawa at laging challenge ‘yung paano na iibahin,” he said during a special edition of Actors’ Cue for the #ExtendTheLove initiative last week.
“Doon na papasok ‘yung character nung pelikula mismo. Hindi naman kami ‘yun eh. It’s a character. Mas challenging siya and yet mas satisfying din lalo na kapag positive ‘yung outcome ng pelikula. At least parang na-overcome mo na naman ‘yung pagsubok na ‘yun. Hindi siya madali. Kailangan naming trabahuhin. Kailangan iba-ibahin,” he explained, citing their experience while making box-office hit “The Hows of Us” in 2018.
“Yung mga director namin na dagdag mata, mas maigi. Mas maraming sumisita, mas maganda. Ako lagi kong tine-take ‘yung sita ng mga tao sa set… Kapag sinasabi nila na ‘Teka DJ, parang ginawa mo na iyan noon.’ Kahit sila minsan nagsu-suggest sila ng pwede naming gawin. Tinatanggap ko ‘yun kasi iba ‘yung mata nila. Iba ‘yung nakikita nila,” he said.
