Curfew violator allegedly beaten to death by barangay guards in Calamba, Laguna

Some bystanders tried to stop the barangay watchmen from allegedly beating a curfew violator in Calamba, Laguna but the suspects did not let go, the victim’s brother said Monday.

The victim was identified as Ernanie Jimenez. His brother, Gledien said his brother left the house around 10 pm on Wednesday to food when the incident happened.

Barangay Turbina guards caught the curfew violator and allegedly beat him when he tried to escape.

Tuloy pa rin sa pagbubugbog,” said Gledien in an interview with Teleradyo.

The incident happened Wednesday night but Ernanie died at Calamba Medical Center Hospital on Friday.

When Ernanie had a CT scan, his skull was found to be crushed, Gledien said.

Gledien’s wife and Ernanie’s partner allegedly saw the four barangay guards beating the victim.

But according to Barangay Turbina representatives, Ernanie fell while being chased by barangay guards when he tried to escape.

The autopsy results on Ernanie’s body are not yet released.

According to Gledien, they are also ready to file a case against those responsible for his brother’s death.
