Curfew in Metro Manila 8 pm to 4 am starting Aug. 6, 2021

A longer curfew will be enforced in Metro Manila on August 6, 2021, starting with more stringent enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority chairperson Benhur Abalos, said Monday that the curfew would be enforced from 8 p.m. until 4 a.m., beginning Friday (Aug. 6).

On June 15, the curfew was lifted in Metro Manila from 12 midnight to 4 a.m.

The National Capital Region (NCR) will be put back to the tightest lockdown because of the worsening COVID-19 situation due to the more contagious variant starting next Friday.

According to presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, Metro Manila will be placed back in the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) from August 6 to 20.

Only immediate family members will now be allowed in necrological services and burials, as long as the cause of death is not COVID-19.

Some of the restrictions also include 30% venue capacity on services such as beauty salons, parlors, barbershops, and nail spas.

Meanwhile,  announced Monday that low-income families in Metro Manila would get P1,000 to P4,000 cash  once the enhanced community  (ECQ) begins on August 6.

“Walang ECQ kung walang ayuda,” presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said.

“Sigurado may ibibigay na P1,000 per person and maximum of P4,000 per family. Hindi pa lang sigurado saan kukunin,” he added.

(P1,000 per person and a maximum of P4,000 per family will surely be given [to qualified beneficiaries]. We just don’t know yet where the funds will be sourced from.)

Last week, Malacañang admitted that the national government has no  yet for the proposed two-week enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the National Capital Region ().

However, Roque said the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) is expected to identify on Monday afternoon where the funds for such cash aid would come from.

Meanwhile, as of 01  2021, 6 PM, a total of 20,863,544 doses have already been administered. Thus, 11,747,581 have received their first doses, while 9,115,963 have already gotten the complete protection of the COVID-19 vaccines.

The total doses administered in the 22nd week of our national vaccination reached 3,661,123 doses with an average of 523,018 daily administered doses.
