CSC warns public against admin case scam

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) on Monday warned the public against “admin case scam,” wherein individuals pretend to be one of its personnel.

In a statement, CSC said it had received reports about individuals pretending to be employees or officials of the CSC or from a certain “Public Complaints Center.” The department allegedly contacts government employees to inform them that an administrative case has been filed against them.

They also ask the employees to pay a certain amount of money to clear the fake “admin case” against them.

“The administrative cases filed before the CSC are decided through a clearly defined adjudication procedure as provided under the 2017 Rules on Administrative Cases in the Civil Service,” Chairperson Alicia dela Rosa-Bala said.

Bala advised the public to immediately report such activities to the CSC’s Office for Legal Affairs at telephone numbers (02) 8931-8016 and (02) 8931-7935 local 401 to 411 or email ola@csc.gov.ph or to the Contact Center ng Bayan by sending an SMS to 0908-8816565 or email to email@contactcenterngbayan.gov.ph.
