The COVID-19 wards of hospitals in Biñan in Laguna province are already full, the city mayor said Tuesday.

According to Dimaguila, if there are new applicants for doctors and nurses, they will again convert the PUP school into a COVID facility hospital.

He said there is still enough supply of oxygen tanks in their city.

“Last week, nag-purchase tayo ng additional 100 [tanks]. Tapos yesterday, 100 tanks na naman binili natin. Good thing, may available pa naman at may nagre-refill pa naman. Unlike before, weekly kami mag-replenish, ngayon daily,” the mayor said.

At the Biñan hospital alone, 30 people died in just 10 days.

According to Dr. Melbril Alonte, medical director of Biñan Hospital, many patients died on arrival. The story of the relatives is that the patients suddenly had difficulty breathing.

According to the latest report, Biñan City had 378 active COVID-19 cases on Monday, while the total number of deaths due to the disease was 142.

In Sta Rosa City, the number of patients in Sta. Rosa Community Hospital is also increasing. Some patients are already in the hospital lobby waiting with vacant rooms or isolation facilities.

According to Mayor Arlene Arcillas, even private hospitals are being filled. So it is difficult for them to find where to take patients.

He also asked people always to follow health protocols and not be complacent even if they are at home.
