COVID-19 cases in Bacolod increasing

The number of COVID-19 cases in Bacolod continues to rise, according to an official.

According to Sorongon, most patients are in isolation facilities or quarantined in their respective homes.

But he said they continue to monitor their hospital capacity utilization rate because some health workers are also affected by COVID-19.

Across the city, more than 60 health workers are already suffering from COVID-19, according to Sorongon.

The doctor said they continue to intensify their surveillance testing and contact tracing in the city.

“Tuloy-tuloy pa rin po yung ating aggressive surveillance testing, at ang ating contact tracing, that’s why the other day po, yung ating pinakamamahal na alkalde, si Mayor Bing (Leonardia), nag-meeting po sa iba’t ibang mga barangay kapitan, at sa ating miyembro ng (Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams) para maintensify po natin yung prevention, detection, isolation na strategies po natin.”

“Lalo na po ang intensified vaccination,n na yung Bacolod City po ngayong araw, we have already registered 123 percent fully vaccinated. That’s equivalent to almost 480,000 Bacolodnons na nabakunahan na po,” said Sorongon.
