UK, Brazil, 3 other countries lift travel restrictions on Filipinos

Five other countries have lifted their travel restrictions on Filipinos. According to the Department of Foreign Affairs, this includes Brazil, Kiribati, the United Kingdom, Benin, and Chad.

However, travelers to these countries still need to follow medical protocols such as having health insurance, undergoing institutional or home quarantine, and showing a negative COVID-19 result.

Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, and the United States are among the countries that Filipinos can now visit but in accordance with the implementation protocols.

In the Asia Pacific region, Filipinos can travel to Bangladesh, Cambodia, French Polynesia, Malaysia, Maldives, Micronesia, Mongolia, Nauru, New Zealand, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Korea, Singapore, and Timor Leste.

In Europe, Filipinos can travel to Andorra, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, and Ukraine.

And in the Middle East and Africa, Filipinos are allowed to travel to Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Djibouti, Egypt, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Guinea-Bissau, Iran, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, and Mozambique.

The DFA, on the other hand, reminded the public that travel restrictions may still change, so it is a good idea to consult airlines, embassies, and consulates first.

28 factory workers tested positive for COVID-19 in Bataan

About 28 workers from various foreign companies in the Authority of the Freeport Area of ​​Bataan (AFAB) tested positive for COVID-19.

The AFAB leadership, led by Administrator Emmy Pineda, confirmed that 28 workers tested positive for COVID-19 testing on Saturday.

In this regard, the administration has ordered a temporary lockdown on the affected companies to carry out massive disinfection in the affected areas.

All those who tested positive have been subjected to isolation, and extensive contact tracing continues with those who may have encountered the said workers.

Meanwhile, apart from AFAB, Mariveles Mayor Jocelyn Castañeda has also issued an order that Barangay San Carlos and Poblacion will undergo a two-day modified lockdown after recording 16 new COVID-19 cases.

Currently, there are 149 COVID-19 cases in Mariveles, so the city continues to restrict health protocols.

Bataan Governor Albert Garcia, on the other hand, appealed to the public to keep using face masks and face shields and comply with physical distancing.
