Authorities arrested a counselor in a drug buy-bust operation in Molondo, Lanao del Sur, Wednesday.
Macapanton Cosain and his wife sold 55 grams of suspected shabu to authorities who disguised as buyers in their house at Barangay Raya Balay.
Cosain was on his first term as a counselor in Molondo, Lanao del Sur.
As per NBI chief Attorney Abdul Jamal Dimaporo, since then the suspects repeatedly texted him to buy illegal drugs again.
The suspects refused to give any more statements about their arrest. But according to authorities, the couple would find it hard to deny the crime as they were caught in a video during their first transaction with the NBI chief.
“Sila dapat mag uphold the law pero sila ngayon ang lumalabag ng batas so they’re considered high value target,” said Dimaporo.
(They were supposed to uphold the law but now they are the ones who violate it so they’re considered high-value target.)
The counselor and his wife will face administrative cases for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
Vice mayor nabbed in shabu raid in Maguindanao
Authorities arrested the vice mayor of Datu Unsay, Maguindanao after they recovered P1.36 million worth of shabu and firearms in her house, Monday.
The authorities recovered P1.36 million worth of shabu, a Winchester caliber-30 rifle with ammunition and another 40 rounds Armalite ammunition from the vice mayor’s house.
